Many Davisites who grew up in town return later with a spouse to settle down and rear children. The attributes which make a community desirable for raising families often become more clear once in that stage of life. Such is the case with Jeff and Jennifer Harrison. Jeff grew up in Davis and went to Cal Poly where he met Jennifer. Upon graduation the two began their careers. For a short while the married couple lived in San Francisco, but it wasn’t long that they realized a smaller community would better fit their needs.
Family ties brought Jeff and Jennifer back to Davis. The Harrison family has a long history in the area. Harrison Real Estate and Development, Harrison Construction, Harrison Self Storage and Davis Indoor Sport Center have all been businesses run by Harrison family members. With their first baby on the way, the couple moved into temporary housing before buying a charming 1000 square foot house on I Street. They quickly outgrew that address when daughter number two joined the growing family. Drawn to older neighborhoods, Jeff and Jennifer knew the new subdivisions in town were not for them. The couple sought out a ranch style home in the Central Area of Davis. After three visits to the house they decided the house on Reed Drive was ‘the one’.
